About DefenderShield® Technology
DefenderShield® technology uses three separate non-toxic, human safe layers of exotic materials processed for maximum radiation blocking efficiency. Each material has unique and targeted radiation shielding characteristics, designed to work in unison to block all radiation emissions from 0 to 10 GHz. DefenderShield® technology refracts, conducts and absorbs to insure complete EMF protection. Single sheets of silver mesh, composite material or any other known single layer material cannot physically shield such a large spectrum. Some materials can shield some parts of the spectrum, but none can block the full spectrum so effectively.

Using DefenderShield® Cell Phone Cases
When using your cell phone, just keep the shielded flip cover between your body and radiation-emitting mobile device. There is no shielding in the back of the cover so there is no interference with the wireless connection when you are on the phone talking.
- Answer or dial your cell phone.
- Flip the shielded front cover closed over the screen, and lift the phone up to your ear.
- Speak on the phone as you normally would. Voice and sound quality will not be affected since the microphone is on the bottom of your phone and there is a small opening for sound to reach your ear. The person you are speaking to will hear you clearly and there will be no reduction in your ability to hear them.
- If you put your phone in your pocket, purse or bag, keep the shielded front cover closed and facing towards your body. This creates a barrier to block emissions from your device to your body.
My DefenderShield® Case is either hanging up on my calls, randomly dialing numbers, or opening apps on my phone.
Apple has designed the 3D touch screens on newer models of the iPhone such as iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models to have adjustable screen sensitivity. If your phone is acting unexpectedly when closing the cover of your case, this can be easily solved by adjusting the sensitivity of the touchscreen in your phone settings. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > 3D Touch. You can either turn this feature completely OFF or set the sensitivity slider to FIRM to make the the 3D touch screen less sensitive.
This is only applicable for the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models.
- Open the universal phone case.
- Remove the top layer of the adhesive.
- Center the phone over the case, ensuring the front flap will completely cover the phone, before pressing down on the phone screen to secure the back of the phone to the adhesive.
- To use the camera, slide the phone upward until the camera lens is above the back of the case.
- To talk on the phone or carry your phone in your pocket, slide the phone back down to ensure a secure fit inside the case, and close the front of the case for EMF protection.
Using the DefenderPad® Laptop Radiation & Heat Shield
- Remove DefenderPad® from packaging.
- Place DefenderPad® on your lap with the DefenderPad® logo facing up.
- Laptop, tablet or other electronic device may then be placed on top of DefenderPad®. The DefenderPad® blocks EMF emissions moving in the downward direction from the bottom of the electronic device.
- If you are using a laptop or other electronic device directly on your body, always to remember to place DefenderPad® in-between your device and the body.
With its patent pending technology, the DefenderPad® blocks the full frequency spectrum of harmful electromagnetic radiation from 0-10 GHz which includes Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) and Radio Frequency (RF) emissions while decreasing heat radiation down to near undetectable levels. If I use a DefenderPad®, does my laptop emit more dangerous emissions? Will they reflect back at me?
No. When using a DefenderPad® underneath a laptop, EMF radiation emitted from the device does not increase. The laptop emissions that flow in the downward direction from the laptop are blocked and dissipated by the shielding materials (not reflected like a mirror).
Yes. The DefenderPad® has been designed to fit PC and Mac® laptops with up to 17 inch displays.
The heat emitted from the bottom of a laptop can reach temperatures as high as 115° Fahrenheit (46.11° Celsius or centigrade). The DefenderPad® allows the heat to flow away from the laptop and prevents all downward air flow from hitting the body. With this kind of proper flow pattern, laptops tend not to overheat while continuing to release potentially dangerous heat levels. In the process of diverting this heat, the DefenderPad® will absorb some portion of the heat and although warm, the heat on the bottom of the DefenderPad® is well within safely limits. This is accomplished with a thermally-resistive surface material on the top of the DefenderPad®.
The DefenderPad® does not haven cooling fans. It provides a clear venting heat path for laptop bottom heat which keeps the laptop operating without overheating and the bottom, a bit cooler. Laptops tend to overheat because there is not a proper path for heat ventilation, intake air vents may be clogged with dust or the laptops no longer operates as designed because of age.
Yes, the DefenderPad® can be used on a desk, but may not be necessary. The DefenderPad® blocks laptop EMF radiation emissions whether it it placed on a lap, a desktop, table or any other surface. When a laptop is used on a desk or table without a DefenderPad®, the laptop emissions can travel completely through. Most desks and tables do not have the capacity to shield any of the 0-10 GHz spectrum radiation emissions. However, these emissions present less risk to the body because there tends to be a fair distance between the laptop and the body legs (lower body). When one foot away for example, the danger to health risks from EMF radiation is significantly reduced.
The DefenderPad® is designed block EMF emissions from laptop computers or tablets and other electronic devices. Although the surface may be larger than a tablet, tablets rest comfortably on the DefenderPad® top surface. Many customers prefer the larger size because when sitting in a chair or couch, they could better rest the device in a comfortable position on their lap.
The DefenderPad® top surface (he logo side) is a non-slippery, rubbery surface designed to minimize sliding movement of your laptop. Additionally, this side is an advanced, thermally resistive material, providing heat shielding.
The DefenderPad® is not made to block radiation emissions from a monitor, but if you are one foot away or more from your screen, the health risks are significantly reduced.
Do some laptop radiation protection products shield Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) better than others?
Yes. You need to review the information carefully. Some products only block your body from Extremely Low Frequency (ELF), but not Radio Frequency (RF) Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR), while others shield Radio Frequency, but not Extremely Low Frequency. Some shields conduct heat from the laptop better than others, preventing elevated temperatures from reaching your body.
No. The laptop, tablet or notebook WiFi continues to work as designed and the upward transmitted signal direction in not altered or blocked in any way. The DefenderPad® shields these emissions in the downward direction and are touching the body. These emissions are referred to as zero distance to the body and are the most harmful.
The DefenderPad® can be cleaned with most common household cleaners, soap and water, or denatured alcohol.
The DefenderPad® is free of BPA, BPS and other known environmental hazards. It also contains no dangerous compounds or contaminants (e.g.lead).
Using DefenderShield® Tablet Cases
Radiation is generated by a tablet in all directions; back, screen and sides, with the most radiation emitted from the back and top of the tablet where the Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters are located. Exposure to radiation from the screen of a tablet is mitigated by the further distance away from the body. As a rule of thumb, when one foot away from the emitting source the dangers of these emissions are significantly reduced by as much as 80%.
- Remove Tablet/iPad Case from packaging, and verify it is the correct size.
- Open the front side of case, noticing elastic straps on the inside right of case.
- Place all four corners of your Tablet or iPad into the elastic straps. The fit should be secure, holding your device in place.
- EMF shielding is in the back side of case.
- While using a tablet/iPad in your lap, keep the shielded back cover between your lap the device.
- To prop your tablet on a table or counter top, make sure it is on an even surface. Open the case fully rotating it until it is parallel and against the back side of the tablet case. Bend the bottom of the top section of the case on the first bend until it touches the back of the top section of the case, creating a triangle. Rest the part of the case the tablet is strapped into against the section folded into a triangle.
Also, another option is to open the case, resting the front flap face down on surface of support (table or counter top). Slightly pull or slide the portion of the case with the tablet strapped in, forward until the bottom fits and rests in the fold of the front flap of the case (the part laying flat on your support surface).
- Please keep in mind that if device is positioned one foot or more away from your body the emissions are reduced by 80%.
- Remember to place radiation shielding between the emission source (the tablet) and your body at all times.
Using the ConcealShield
Where do I put my cell phone and other traceable items into the ConcealShield to block all signals?
Just place your mobile phone, credit cards, passport, IDs or any other traceable items inside the Using the ConcealShield main compartment (the gray center pocket) and snap close the top cover.
If you would like to protect yourself from EMF radiation, but still receive phone calls or messages, place your cell phone in the side, front pocket. Your device will still be able to transmit, but will block the emissions from touching your body.
Ideally, you should turn your cell phone off or put it in airplane mode before placing it inside the Using the ConcealShield. While your cell phone is inside the Using the ConcealShield, it will constantly search for a connection to a cell tower and this results in the draining of your battery.
We do not recommend leaving your phone in the Using the ConcealShield overnight, or longer than a few hours without turning it off or putting it in airplane mode first.
Using DefenderShield® Headphones
Select from the multiple size rubber earbuds (Small, Medium, and Large) provided to find the right size. Proper fit should be comfortable, but have a secure fit in the outer ear canal. A medium size earbud comes attached.
Squeeze the microphone body once to answer the phone call. Squeeze again for 2 seconds to end the phone call.
Squeeze the microphone body once to mute. Squeeze it again to resume two-way communication.
Cell Phone EMF Radiation Emissions
Radiation is generated by the cell phone in all directions; bottom, top, sides, front and back with the most radiation emitted from where the Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters are located.

Today, the computer and phone have merged into one device that fits in the palm of your hand. A smartphone is essentially a small computer, yet has many times the computing power of traditional computers. There are no cords to connect you to a base. Laptop EMF Radiation Emissions
Direct exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF), Radio Frequency (RF) and Heat Radiation emissions can cause numerous health risks such as:
- Fertility problems in men and women
- DNA fragmentation (irreversible changes to the genetic code)
- Toasted Skin Syndrome (Erythema ab igne), burns and rashes
- Other serious health concerns
A laptop presents the most potential health risk when used directly against the body. This is referred to as ‘zero distance.’ Even after just a foot or more of distance between the transmitting source and your body, the most critical health risks of the EMF emissions substantially reduced.
Radiation can affect sperm motility, vitality and cause DNA fragmentation. As an example, in one Argentinian study scientists studied the effect of laptop Radio Frequency (RF) radiation and WiFi on human male sperm.
- 25% of the sperm was no longer active compared to 14% from sperm samples stored at the same temperature over the same time period and away from the computer.

Tablet EMF Radiation Emissions
Components of tablets convert power into processing, memory-storing, and other computing functions. Many of these components generate Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) when performing computing operations. Tablets also generate heat radiation, but less than your typical laptop for example. When your tablet connects to the internet or a network, it uses WiFi or cellular (e.g., 3G, 4G, 5G) signals. A tablet is equipped with transmitters and receivers for this function. It’s the transmitting part of the tablet that poses the potential danger, because it uses high frequency, Radio Frequency (RF) Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) signals.

Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) Information
Electric fields occur when positive or negative electrical charges are present and apply forces on other charges within the fields. The fields and their strength are measured in volts per meter (V/m). Active electrical wires produce electric fields, as do almost all electric powered devices. The field exists even when there is no current flowing. When the voltage increases, so does electric field surrounding the device. When moving away from the source of the field, the field strength is reduced.
Magnetic fields are created from electric charges. Their strength is measured in amperes per meter (A/m). Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) also have related measurements which identify the flux density, expressed in microtesla, µT. When current is increased, the strength of the magnetic field increases. Magnetic fields are not commonly blocked with everyday materials.
Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) are omnidirectional (moves in all directions) waves generated from electrically powered devices in the form of an electrical energy with a magnetic field. EMFs are also known as Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR).
Moving closer to the source of the waves increases the magnetic field intensity. A magnetic field cannot be felt, seen, or heard. Although the earth creates a magnetic field, EMFs also emanate from electrical devices such as computers, tablets, cellphones, radios, motors, home appliances, transformers, and electric power lines etc.
Non-ionizing radiation does not carry enough energy to break molecular bonds and ionize atoms. Example of non-ionizing are ELF and RF radiation.
Ionizing radiation is the type of radiation that carries enough energy to break bonds between molecules and ionize atoms. Examples of Ionizing radiation are the gamma rays emitted by radioactive materials, cosmic rays, and X-rays.
A WiFi signal transmits and receives information between your your electronic device and router to connect to the internet. WiFi, short for wireless fidelity, refers to a signal which operated at a few different frequencies. Generally speaking WiFi is typically used as a standalone term. The term microware is a reference to a class of waves, referenced as a microwave range or spectrum of frequencies that the WiFi signal operates. For example, the WiFi signal from your laptop is often transmitted at 2.4 GHz, a frequency found within the microwave range, or spectrum of 300 MHz to 300 GHz. This 2.4 GHz frequency is also within the same spectrum of what is called the Radio Frequency (RF) range, 3 KHz – 300 GHz. As you may notice, the RF is simply a slightly more broad frequency spectrum than the microwave range. All of the terms are often used interchangeably.
What is the difference between Radio Frequency (RF) versus Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) shielding?
Radio Frequency (RF) shielding is the reduction or elimination of high frequency signals up to 5 GHz. Materials shield RF frequencies by creating high conductivity with little or no magnetic permeability.
Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) shields are highly permeable. ELF shields attract magnetic fields and divert the energy through them.
Wireless keyboards and mice communicate via Bluetooth (or similar) technology. Although Bluetooth is a relatively low level of EMF radiation, it can affect the electrically hypersensitive, especially at close distances. However, wireless keyboards and mice are more of an irritant than an imminent health risk.
There is very little static electricity emitted or accumulated by electronic devices because they are typically self-ground. This static electricity poses no imminent health risk, but may be a slight irritant for electromagnetic hypersensitive individuals.
Yes. Direct Current (DC) magnetic fields do not vary because the power source is constant. Alternating Current (AC) magnetic fields are created by an alternating power source generated at a given frequency. Almost all house and commercial power is AC, which is at 60 Hz.
An earthing ground is a “connection to ground” for static electricity found in a room and around electronic devices. Electronic devices that plug into a wall socket have a grounding path to earth ground provided within a standard wall socket. The static electricity looks for the quickest path to ground which an earthing cable may provide. Occasionally, the earthing cable ground is used for electrically sensitivity people and extra device protection.
An earthing ground is NOT an conductive path for the electromagnetic emissions from laptops, tablets and cell phones. These devices emit Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) or Radio Frequency (RF) EMF radiation emissions. ELF or RF emissions will not travel the conductive path of an earthing ground.
An earthing cable will not provide any shielding protection from EMF radiation. That is what the DefenderShield® is designed to accomplish. There is very little static electricity emitted or accumulated by electronic devices because they typically self-ground.
